Company Profile
El Chupacabra is a Mexican restaurant located in Seattle, Greenwood and Alki Beach areas. Opened in 2005 and has been a successful local restaurant for over 15 years.
The owner Aaron Wright, he and his business partner hired bartenders from Seattle local punk watering holes when they opened the restaurant. They filled the old jukebox with their favorite punk rock and heavy metal tunes.

PROJECT SUMMARY

+Users should have an option to create online orders on the website under the COVID-19 circumstances.

+Seeking to communicate their culture and aesthetics via the web.

PROJECT GOALS

+Update the look and feel of the website.

+Create a mobile first, accessible design.

ROLES

Product / UI design

Challenges / Improvements

+Adopt to the latest web design structure

+Organize their contents

+Create the website that helps customers know more about El Chupacabra as well as take orders online.

Solution

CONCEPT - 3 KEYWORDS

CASUAL / PUNK ROCK / EXCEPTIONAL
These three keywords are based on their story of when they opened the restaurant.
They hired bartenders from Seattle local punk watering holes. The old jukebox was filled with their favorite punk rock and heavy metal tunes. Punk rock music is deeply related to their history and they play that genre music at the restaurant even now.

My idea of the structure is a one-page website, except order online and socials are linked to the third-party service and SNS. The advantage of a one-page website is that you can reach the information that you need quickly. The yellow highlights are what customers most want to know.

Idea and Style Board

Picture
The main visual idea is punk rock vintage fryers and punk vibes.

Wireframe

Every element needs to follow the responsive web design structure. Such as 12 columns and breakpoint for each device.

Type System

The fonts make their intended brand voice strong: Vintage Punk style visualization.
Chaparral Pro, the body typeface is readable and to be a good combination with the SEX PISTOLS font.

Promotion Idea | Support Local

My promotion idea for the restaurant is that the website would be helpful to connect the customers and local artists or retailers to sell their products. The support local menu is randomly showing customers punk vibe items (like the Pinterest app). Click on the item you're interested in, connects to a third-party e-commerce site.
